I NEVER said that there was no test. I specifically said there was no vaccine, assuming you all already knew that. Please read a little more closely before criticizing.

I thought anyone who cared for cats would be aware of the diseases to be cautious of, so I didn't want to waste anyone's time with an explanation., but here it is!

Feline Aids (FIV) is a very contagious and eventually FATAL disease which CAN be tested for, but there is NO cure or treatment. As with ANY test, it gives the status of a cat at a specific point in time. The cat can get FIV the very next time it is allowed contact with another cat, making the previous test results meaningless.
