Kelly,
I'm going to speak from the heart so please forgive me. Be a rat, be a rat, be a rat!!!! The way I see it, the people may write the checks but our main concern are the animals that are put in our care. Every now and again, we will all come across clients who test our conscience and as pet sitters, pet care takers and animal lovers we must not let the hurt feelings of one client allow us to be involved in activity that, in any other situation, we would scream to the High Heavens for any help we could find. If you truly are concerned call Animal Control, call the local Animal Welfare League, call the ASPCA, call anyone even remotely involved with the welfare of animals and let them know what is going on. Chances are good your complaint won't be the first but it certainly could be the last. I did face a situation similar to yours so I know where you are coming from. My solution was to make all my calls and continue to call, every day, until the animals were removed from the home. I lost a client but saved two dogs and didn't feel the slightest regret over the clients feelings. Please help these little ones. You may be the only hope they have.
