MOst of my clients are great, but most dont do gifts, etc. either, I just dont think they think about it. Several always tip, but thats about it, most dont.
As for the phone, well, yes, I have found that by the time I get to return the call they may have found someone. My cell phone is my business line, but I cannt drive and talk to a new client at the same time, I have to be able to write things down. If I have time I may call them back from the side of the road or something, but other than that, I have no idea what to do short of hiring someone to answer your phone! :)
