Hey Laurie,
The CUR(Canine Underground Railroad) is a group of alot of people who transort, by relay, dogs that have been rescued(from puppy mills or people or shelters) and transports them across country or across states to get to their new forever homes. alot of truckers are invloved and business people who fly will offer to take a dog with them. It's really kinda neat. There are alot of different groups that do this and have mailing lists to get on. They post a route and whoever can fill different legs of the trip sign up.
