Hello Peter-
First of all, don't apologize for your English. It's a 'helluva' lot better than my Schuldeutsch.
I know the English translated it to mean 'contemptible little army' regardless of what the Kaiser actually meant. He had a tendency to say inappropriate things but as a grandson of Queen Victoria he had spent much time in England and surely had great respect for the British Army. Still, at the time, when addressing troops, it's difficult to predict what he may have said in the heat of the moment. I, and others, have attempted to find the original but have never been successful. It was undoubtedly at the outset of the war but that is all we know. And it may not have been written down except in newspapers at the time but I don't know exactly when or where.
Hopefully you or someone out there may be able to solve the puzzle.
