I know a little about him. :) Sorry gentlemen, I haven't dropped in here before and just noticed these posts. I would be happy to answer any questions any of you may have about the book. It is essentially a history of the entire MarineKorps from its formation in 1914 until 1918 and is based primarily on the records of the MarineKorps contained in the Bundesarchiv in Freiburg. It is somewhat different in emphasis from Mr. Ryheul's work (which I found very useful, thank you sir) and is much less well illustrated. All I have are some maps, some of which are based off of those in the official histories.

Mr. Ryheul, I'm sorry I haven't responded to you. I've never received any messages. Probably because I have been an academic migrant worker for a few years. My current email is mkarau@uwc.edu and I would be happy to answer any questions you have.

BTW, I am currently with the University of Wisconsin system. I used to teach at a couple of different schools in Florida.
