Thanks for reading this , i bought my wife a 2.0 litrs cavalier cdx , if she get into it to drive she goes a few yards down road and i mean a few yards and it loses all power and she got to pull into side, she waits a few mins and then it starts again , but the same thing happens again within 30 yrds , could it be the idle control valve, i would like to thank you for reading this before you may answer, i am at a loss to find out why it does this .
since i bought it 2 weeks ago she has been unable to use it even to go to local shop which is only 500 yrs away , if she waits a min or so it starts back up but when she try's to drive it it cuts out and she loses the engine and then again has to wait a min or 2 before it starts again , yet it can run for 20 mins without just ticking over without cutting out, but as soon as she drives it again it does the same thing over and over , i would like to thank you very very much if anyone can enlighten me on the problem , someone keeps telling me it's the idle control valve, and for me to clean it ,would it be this .
