Memories of the last night swamp her, and she hears bits of the conversations as clearly as if they were right beside her.

Would you like me to rename her 'Mal's Jade'? 'Cause I will...

Indignant anger rises up like a fire in her, but the seemingly innocent words of the filly ring harshly in her mind, as if taunting her.

Queens are supposed to be nice and pretty and stuff. She's nothing like a real queen.

She closes her eyes, a silent tear making its way down her cheek unnoticed. "Just leave me alone," she murmurs, trying to chase away the mocking memories. Everything I do ends up turned against me somehow... Why do they expect me to be the 'perfect' Queen? I don't even like the position at all. My every move is watched and judged, like I am a circus attraction available for viewing. I can't stand it...
