Subject: Gods of War Postponed Until Fall

The Godz of War event planned for June 21 at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. has been postponed until an unspecified date in the Fall, according to a statement on the Time Warner Cable Arena website.

The full statement reads:

“The upcoming fight scheduled for June 21st at Time Warner Cable Arena has been postponed until the fall.

TICKET HOLDERS PLEASE NOTE:
All tickets for the June 21st date will be honored for the new date (to be announced later) or are fully refundable at point of purchase.”

Kevin Randleman and Jeff Monson were originally slated to headline Godz of War, but Randleman had to withdraw due to injury and was replaced by Ricco Rodriguez. Other bouts of note included former Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight titleholder Murilo Bustamante against Ultimate Fighter alumnus Josh Haynes, Luiz Azeredo facing Kamal Shalorus, and Milton Vieira versus David Gardner.

Officials at Global Fighting, LLC, the Godz of War promoter, were not available for comment at the time of publication, but most speculation has centered on slow ticket sales for the reason the event has been postponed.

It should be noted, however, that Monson was also slated to headline the recent Adrenaline MMA debut in Chicago and had to withdraw due to a slow healing hand injury. That also could have factored into the decision to postpone the event.

Don't bet on it being re-scheduled AT ALL. Blaming it on Monson's injury is a very weak excuse.

Roger is one of the busiest guys in NC. He lives close to that area and its only smart for any promoter to have a local guy or two.

Why would you poke at the guy, you fight yourself?
