If I am reading that correctly, they are not "banning" events. They are saying they will not allow the use of city facilities for such events. This is fine by me. If a facility is privately owned or corporate owned they can still have events there. No problem for me to swallow. Now making a law to not allow the events anywhere in the city I could take umbrage with, but its their property, they can do with it as they please.

Yea, but the language dude used to describe MMA was straight from the 90's! Plus, he communicated that he hoped others would follow suit with what they did. I just wanted to spread the word.

Great. Lets not hold events in Concord. Local schools should hold events outside of the city. This would include meetings, eats, gatherings etc. Local sponsors of MMA/grappling/Martial arts in general should be informed of the city's hostile attitude to a legitimate sport. They can create pressure through the voting base (or the tax dollar base)by spreading the word and letting people know now much this doucebag position is impacting the local economy. Most politicians get embarrased when painted in the light of being anti-economy.
