There were 14 of the best fights I have ever seen on a card. We started the show out with a self defense and martial arts demonstration from Dean Pyles and his daughter. The on to the exhibition grappling competition and then main fights. We had an exciting intermission display from 2 of the female youth grapplers from Odyssey Martial Arts.

Finally the evening was capped off with a 3 round main event featuring Roger Carroll and Jon Dolida. Roger won a majority decision in what was an incredibly close fight.

Now for the results.

In an exhibition grappling match 2 youths Chaz Tocheney (Team-ROC Greensboro) and Chris Snipes (Odyssey Martial Arts). Chris won Via submission.

Brett Barton (Ring Lords) defeated Dan Carter (American Martial Arts Systems) vie referee stoppage due to punches

Bailey Martin (Odyssey Martial Arts) defeated Nick Pyrtle (American Martial Arts Systems) via triangle choke.

Mickey Manfredi (Team-One) defeated Shane Figgine (Rippers Martial Arts) via judges decision.

David Noblit (Team-ROC Raleigh) defeated Chris Chris Decoskey (American Martial Arts Systems) via judges decision

Jeff Spain (Odyssey Martial Arts) defeated Kasim Nawaz (TFTC/Team-ROC)

Roger Carroll (Superior Jiu-Jitsu/Odyssey Martial Arts) defeated Jon Dolida (Hybrid Academy of Martial Arts) via Judges decision.

We at the EVT just wanted to personally thank all of those who participated and attended the event. This was an amazing night of fights. 14 of the best fights I have ever seen on any amateur card anywhere. All of the guys came with heart and skills and put on what will go down as one of the best fight cards ever! Thank you guys so much for the show and your participation. Although there has to be winners and losers I assure you that no one who fought on this card is a looser. Thanks!!!

Funny thing about the show.......All week long I had people asking me about the EVT and if I was going. I'd tell them "Yes" and they would ask "Who is the Main Event" and I would say it dosen't matter all the fights are usually pretty good. For the price, the travel distance, and the show itself, you really can't get a better deal than the EVT.

It was good to see the usual suspects, Twister,Aitor,Billy,Brent,Lamonte,Neil,Brandon and Tracey.
I was proud of former team mate Adam Song making the transition from fighter to Coach. (*By the way Adam -- the Hobbits are suing for "Gimmick Infringement" Ring Lords vs
Lord of the Rings) My Hero of the night was Dan Carter entering his first MMA fight at age 41 with practically no
martial arts experience. Congrats to my Co-worker Kasim Nawaz.

I actually have no idea who the judges were. They were supplied by the WKA. I know that with a lot of the fights going the distance they had their work cut out for them. There were a few I was glad I didn't have to judge.

SES......Give me a call. That way we can get all of the other footage to you for editing. I also have an idea.

Some were definitely too close to call, but then again some were completely called wrong. But, that's the way things go sometimes.

Sanctioning Bodies and the actual fight organizations don't alway's see eye to eye.

They need one another but in the begining of a new relationship the promoters just handle the spectacle of the show, and the sanctioning body handles the Admin details of the fights.

As time goes on they will share ideas about the other organizations side of things.

There were only two fights that I had in mind that could've
been reversed....Kevin Hunt could've been declared the winner in his fight against Jason Hess.....Jay Cox could've been declared winner over Jamie Fawks.

But Hey, that's the way the cookie crumbles

You weren't surprised about the judges decision in regards to the main event? Maybe I just need to see a replay...

I have watched most of the fights and I have to say I think the judges actually got it right. The most of the fights that went the distance were close but I honestly believe that the judges got the right calls, which is quite impressive.

At first my opinion on a a few of the fights was that the missed the boat. Including the Kevin fight. After actually watching the fight and not running around I think they did get it right judging round by round, which is the way a fight is judged.

Rick,

It's all subjective fighting, one's decision is usually influenced by what a person has experienced in his past. What I believe makes an effective fighter goes into the mix also. A training partner of mine asked me about the main event also. My rational was that Roger was very active on his back (from the guard). His opponent tried to used the ropes to escape a triangle choke attack, (The ref told them in the dressing room that if they get "caught up" in the ropes he would stan them up), Trying to crawl under the ropes is not "caught up"......I thought the striking was even....Dolida threw more, but Roger landed with more authority.

Overall I felt that if Roger had not pressed the issue there wouldn't have been much of a fight.

That's my take on the fight as I was trying to record the fight. I will not watch all of the fights again until I edit all the footage. My opinion may change afterwards but
that won't change my opinion of the EVT or the Sanctioning Body.

Is there going to be a disc available for sale??
How do we get one? I have it on tape, but the quality isn't very good. Then again, I may not want the copy Ses filmed, he was obviously at a bad angle......
