MMA is up for vote, and looks like its gonna pass. If it happens how far are we from seeing MMA in NC? Does anyone know who is going to in charge of regulating the sport? After YEARS of travelling all over the country for fights I for one cant wait to see MMA in NC.

North Carolina has become the latest American state to legalise Mixed Martial Arts. The state Senate unanimously passed a bill on Wednesday that would allow mixed martial arts matches once the Alcohol Law Enforcement division of the Department of Crime Control and Public Safety comes up with regulations for them.

The House passed the bill 93-20 Wednesday night. It now goes to the governor for his signature.

Before MMA was banned in North Carolina, the Independence Arena in Charlotte hosted UFC 3: The American Dream and UFC 5: The Return of the Beast.

Holy S*&T, I might, just might have to try to fight a few more times. The doc said my peg leg was good (as good as it will get without surgery, but more importantly its very stable, even if I have to eat a bottle of aspirin to train) and I am running out of time with a kid on the way.

I hate to speculate on when things involving the creation of legislation will ever change. BUT, I saw this,....

That's great! Does anyone know when the regulations will be finalized and where they can be found? We (The Palaestra combat sports club in Sylva) are interested in putting on some fights locally and want to know what's expected of us from the boxing authority. Thanks in advance!!
