"TAP FACTOR" is a unique grappling tournament format featuring numberous grappling styles, Wrestling, No-Gi, Judo, Gi, Cuff-N-Stuff, etc. To offer the most telling gauge of who where competitors stand they compete in a round-robin bracket. The fighter with the most overall wins,...wins. If tied then the fighter with the most submissions wins, if still tied then the fighter with the most points scored wins,...and so on and so forth.
This is what makes this the ideal opportunity for competitors to gain an incredible amount of matches and experience. More bang for your buck!

FOLKSTYLE WRESTLING:
A.K.A. Collegic Wrestling, found at all high schools and colleges in the US.
The objective is to force your opponent onto his back, to pin your opponent. A pin, also called a fall, occurs when any part of both shoulders or both shoulder blades (scapula) of either wrestler are in contact with mat for two (2) continuous seconds. A pin ends the match immediately. However, if neither wrestlers is pinned, the winner is the wrestler with the most points at the end of the match. There are five ways to score points in a folk style wrestling match: Takedown, Escape, Reversal, Near-Fall, and Penalty.
Takedown=2 Points From a neutral position (both standing with neither
wrestler having control) a wrestler gains control over his opponent down
on the mat while the supporting parts of either wrestler is
inbounds.
Escape=1 Point When a defensive (bottom) wrestler gains a neutral
position and his opponent has lost control while at least one wrestler is
inbounds.
Reversal=2 Points When the defensive wrestler comes from the bottom
position and gains control of his opponent, either on the mat or in a rear
standing position, while the supporting points of either wrestler are
inbounds.
Near Fall(a.k.a. back points)
A near fall criteria exists when the offensive wrestler: holds any part of
both shoulders of the defensive wrestler within four inches of the
mat; holds one shoulder of the defensive wrestler to the mat with the
other shoulder held at an angle of 45 degrees or less; or holds the
defensive wrestler in a high bridge or on both elbows exposing his back
to the mat. If a near fall criteria is met for two continuous seconds, 2
points are awarded when the defensive wrestler is out of the predicament.
If a near fall criteria is met for five continuous seconds, a 3 point near fall
is awarded when the defensive wrestler is out of the near fall situation.
Penalty Point A wrestler is awarded point(s) for technical violations or
infractions of the rules committed by his opponent. These points are
awarded according to the penalty chart. The following are penalized:
Illegal Holds, Unnecessary Roughness, Unsportsmanlike conduct, Stalling,
Technical Violations. First offense=1 point, Second offense=2 points, Third
offense=2 points, Fourth offense=Disqualification.
HIGHLAND WRESTLING:
A.K.A. Cumberland Wrestling. One of the orginal and longest running forms of grappling in the world.
In a nutshell, best two out of three falls wins. Breaking of the grip or touching the ground loses the round.
A. The "J" grip. On taking hold the wrestlers stand up chest to chest, each placing his chin on his
opponent's right shoulder and grasping him round the body, each placing his right
arm above the left of his opponent. A wrestler refusing to take hold will be dis-
qualified. When both men have got hold and are fairly on their guard, the Referee
shall call "hold" and the wrestlers will commence, and, with the exception of
kicking, the wrestlers are allowed to use every legitimate means to throw each
other; to strike with the side of the foot shall not be regarded as kicking. If
either party breaks his hold, that is loose his grip, though not on the ground,
and the other still retains his hold, the one leaving shall be declared the loser.
B. Winning a round. If either man touches the ground with one knee or any other part of his body
shall be deemed the loser. If both fall to the ground the man who is first
down or falls under the other shall be the loser, but if they fall side by side or
otherwise so that the officials cannot decide which was first on the ground, it
shall be termed a dog fall, and shall be wrestled over again.
C. A fall is defined as touching the ground with any part of the person, the feet
excepted. All competitions shall be decided by the best of three falls.
D. Use of the legs to kick and swept an opponents legs is legal.
E. Uniform consists of a kilt and no shoes. Kilt will be provided.
CUFF'N'STUFF:
Cuff'n'Stuff is a police styled arrest and apprehension div.. Basically if an officer didn't have a gun, or a weapon, what would he do? He's face to face with another. Winner is whoever controls and places thier opponent in a cuffing postion(face down hands behind back in cuffable postion and held for a five count) Submission moves are legal, but upon tap of CONTROLLED submission attempt the hold does not have to be released, only loosed and can be used to gain control and cuffing position.
If there is no "Cuff Out" then match is decided by ref based on who had most dominant control.
