If anybody who was anybody took a look at this forum, and they saw the type of "leadership" behind the scenes of the MMA push in NC, they would run. No one in their right mind would be associated with the guys posting here. I know Anthony and Joe a bit. I don't know the rest of you guys, but I don't think this forum is doing anything for the sport or the movement. I would hope that you would all take a step back a think about the things that are being said here--it's truly ridiculous.

Ryan, I won't say that it won't make it but I do agree that it can't be taken seriously right now. It will be difficult but I believe that when we can get events here or near-by (like the EVT events in Danville VA) we can make better strides foward.

I remember when Billy and I could get on this forum and say the same things these guys are saying but the difference was our teams didn't mind fighting one another in live action. It was never personal.

Now the stuff here is getting deep because there are no consequences. You can say whatever you want and cause so much confusion.....about who is or isn't legitamate. There use to be a time when fighters here could Challenge each other and still recognize the talents of the other groups.

# about who is or isn't legitamate.

The best thing to do with that stuff is to ignore it. "Legitimate?" Define "Legitimate" for me, please? Who defines "Legitimate?" It's all a load of bunk. The mat, the octagon, the ring, ultimately reveal all that is necessary to know about legitimate. This belt crap, lineage crap, federation crap, etc. is all just that... crap.

Personally I could care less who somebody got their belt from, or any of that shit. If somebody is more skilled than I am (which is basically everybody, but that's another story) then I can learn from them... and it will be immediately obvious to me who is more skilled than I. I don't need belts, certificates, notes from the Gracies or anything else to justify anything.

I agree.

The "problem" is, those within the industry in NC seem willing to destroy the industry in order to "save face" or to avoid fraternizing with the "competition". The majority of the posts here are self-aggrandizing at best or patronizing, demeaning, and rife with jealousy at the worst.

The sooner everyone figures out that the politics, the infighting, the petty name-calling, etc. is nothing but a detriment, the better off the "cause" will be. Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be anywhere on the horizon.

Sad but true.

Let me clear the air here about just about everything. For MMA in NC. It will happen. When? Well lets see I busted my ass for this past gemeral assembly session and called on about 12 different senators that I knew someone who knew someone nad met with the delegate from my area. I made a last minute post because that is when the information came to me and we got 12 people to call in. Not the several 100 that we needed. So I dropped back and have worked on getting this thing started again.

I have had meetings with the boxing authority in NC trying to work out the laws and have a good idea of what they will and won't support. The problem is that they won't push the change in the law or the introduction of a new law they are looking to us as a unit to do this.

As for Anthony's comments on Team-ROC conrnering the market......well if I am all of Team-ROC then you are sadly mistaken. I have helped a ton of people throughout this state with events, seminars and even done privates for some high profile members of the MMA community. My drive is to finish the work that Billy Dowey, Frank Mullis and myself started over 5 years ago. I want to see MMA legal here more then anyone else. I also want to see it goverened and set as an example of how MMA should be regulated where the fighters are looked after. If that appears to someone as trying to corner the market then so be it. ANYONE who knows me has knows what I want is where I don;t have to drive hours upon hours and spend every penny I make teaching BJJ to help my fighters go to Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, New Jersey, Hawaii to fight. Do I want someone to screw this up? HELL NO!

So back to the original point. Will MMA ever become legal in NC....Yes. When? When a group of us get together, set a plan in motion and systematically push the system to make the change. If your interested get up with me and we can work on it. If you do things to screw this up don't expect to be invited as part of the solution.

There just seems to be to many people trying to find glory in being the one to make it legal. If everyone could just get thier egos out of the way and try to work with each other instead of against each other this would all be alot easier.
I don't get it.My tournament this, your tournament that, and you guys wonder why some of us don't show up.I must have missed the memo when we decided we would all become glory whores and bicker on line like a bunch of faggots over who is going to have the best tournament or who can defeat the states decision on MMA,or who deserves what belt,or who taught in Japan,or who know the most Gracies,or witch NC jui-jitsu federation is better,or what team is the best,or who's the best instructer,or any more of the cry ass stuff I read on here.
If you pay attention,it's just a choise few in this state that are always in the midst of controversy. It's always the same few and it's usually the same shit.I never see them compete, but they are usually at the tournaments.
Stop trying to be recognized,it makes you look more like a wanna be.No one individual is going to get this legal. This has to be done by everyone.Until people start realizing this,we'll have the same people stirring the same pot of shit and crying about that pot of shit still smelling bad.
If nothing else,at least lets all get together and start a new pot o'poo to bitch about.
Twister, you are still a fag.I hope you get ass raped by a rogue aids infested alligator with an incredibly large member while you are in Florida.I do however want you to survive this attack so I can mock you by making alligator sounds later in life if I can figure out exactly how an alligator sounds while in the midst of physical passion with a middle aged pansey ass like your self.
Love to all.
