Subject: GrappleMania NC Grappling Challenge, Sunday December 18th, BJJ and No Gi Competition Author: Brad [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 01:09:49 11/15/05 Tue The GrappleMania NC Grappling Challenge Sunday December 18th, 2005 Wake Forest, NC Dubois Center Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and No Gi Grappling Competition Men, Women, Seniors, Teens, and Kids Divisions Over 50 Grappling Divisions Tournament Starts at 10:30am with Women, Teen, Kids, and Senior Divisions Weigh Ins and Registration will be from 7:30am till 9:45am on the 18th Pre Register by December 12, thru mail with payment and receive a free tournament t-shirt. Prices are as follows. Pre Registration 1 Division for Kids and Teens $30.00---------Day of the Event $40.00 Pre registration 2 Divisions for Kids and Teens $40.00-------Day of the Event $50.00 Pre Registration 1 Division for Adults $50.00-------Day of the Event $60.00 Pre Registration 2 Divisions for Adults $60.00-------Day of the Event $70.00 Spectator Prices are as follows. Adults $7.00 Kids and Teens $5.00 5 and Under Free Admission Go to GrapplersLeague.com/registration.htm to download the grappling registration form. Form should be up this week We will also feature several superfights at this event, the main event no gi superfight will be Royce Gracie Brown Belt and Team Roc member Billy Dowey vs Rick Macauley who is a 2005 Abu Dhabi Veteren and Balance Jiu Jitsu BJJ Black Belt. I am gonna also try to make the Bud World Cup event in Jan, you are doing a great thing with the event. I support your events 100%. I train with Guy here in Wake Forest, i know he attended the Bud Nationals a few weeks ago with some of the other guys we train with, i was unable to make it due to some other obligations. But i will for sure be at the next one. If you have any flyiers for the Bud World Cup, send me some and i will make sure they get passed out at GrappleMania. Not sure about early weigh ins yet. I may try to do some early weigh ins and registration, Sat night during setup. I just did a grappling event in Texas a few weeks ago, where we did weigh ins the night before and it worked well, it cut out alot of hassle and long lines the morning of. Looking forward to the event. I have a couple of questions. We have a few wrestlers that are going to do no gi. What division should they register for? They have wrestled at NC State but only have a couple of months training in submissions. Also, it says no neck cranks and heel hooks for intermediate. I'm assuming knee bars are legal then? Thanks! I was in the same boat when i wreslted in college. Those guys should go with the intermediate division at the very least. it wouldnt be fair to throw them in with the beginers.
