where there is a will, there is a way... if you really want to learn bjj, you can't just expect someone to bring it to you, you have to be willing to sacrifice, and go find it... seeing as many americans travel to brazil each year on there own funds to spend weeks, sometimes even months to improve, it's hard to sympathize w/ your situation... i'm not trying to bust your balls, i promise, but you really have to consider that in some states, and other parts of the world people are Hungry to learn and there are NO BJJ resources available... i train at the Hurst Academy, and we have guys that make a 2 hour commute, one way, (depending on traffic) in order to train w/ our team on a weekly basis... here's my advise... find a place to train, such as a YMCA, gymnastic school, or another MA academy (that's open minded) that already has a matted area... recruit a couple of friends who share your interest and start a club... make the commute to one of the closer academies as often as possible, even if it 2 x monthly and learn as much as you can... depending on your money situation, you can also supplement w/ some BJJ instructional videos... set your goal and concentrate on earning your blue belt... after you earn your blue, maybe you will have enough guys and you can ask to become a satellite school under your BJJ instructor's academy/association... good luck w/ your training!
