The original concept was for the next generation of bands coming through. Adam summed it up perfectly saying that these are the bands of the future. With the quality of the heavier edged bands emerging around the country the Aussie scene is heading for sum promising times. Apart from the Testies and TMOC we haven't had any real worldclass quality bands emerge from that kind of genre. TBE have broken through and are kicking ass, Cog are doing it in Sydney, Ochre are doing it in bris, Melodyssey will soon too i am sure there are more but these are the ones that I am aware of. The standard is being raised all the time. I have had heard alot of people saying that the music coming out in Australia is better than anything that has come out of the US or UK. I agree totally and as an avid music listener feel a measure of pride in the new Aussie bands.

THE MUSIC OF A COUNTRY IS REFLECTIVE OF THE CULTURE WITHIN.

My point is i look forward to the day that this next generation of bands are on the big festival line-ups, and that I am sick of alot of the bands that are taking up the spots on them at present.
