Remember this thing Lorene did that I found it on the internet.
The poor old preacher from the First Baptist Church of Statesboro who delivered Daddy's euology did not even know him and kept calling him Mr. Riggs.
Civic leader!!!!! Loving husband and wonderful father!!!!!
Lorene really believes that she achieved some prominent status in The 'Boro by marrying a Rigdon. (I suppose that when you come from serious white trash, anything is a step up.) But, most people who knew her and Jiggs just thought she was an idiot and out for his money. He just wanted a live-in servant.
My response to this resolution/absurdity are in parenthesies below.

ADOPTED SENATE
A RESOLUTION
Expressing regret at the passing of Austin Daniel Rigdon; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS, Austin Daniel Rigdon was well known and highly respected as a businessman and civic leader in Statesboro, Georgia, where he was a lifelong resident and a descendant of one of the original settlers in Bulloch County, currently owning land grant property; and
WHEREAS, he graduated from Statesboro High School in 1940, received technical training, volunteered for military service in 1942, and served his country with honor (huh? I have a letter he wrote in which he clearly states that he was sent to an army hospital immediately upon arrival to base camp overseas) in Africa; and
WHEREAS, he established the Rigdon Electrical, Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning business which he owned and operated for forty years, establishing a premier (PREMIER?!!!) reputation for reliability and service throughout the community; and
WHEREAS, his contributions to the quality of life (more like to the destruction of life) in his native community were insignificant and included being card carrying member of the KKK, a member of the Bulloch County Corn Shuckers Society, a Boy Scout troop leader in Brooklet, and an active member of the Kill All Queers Society.
WHEREAS, in addition to his unusual civic leadership, sometimes Ruby Roly Poly Rigdon would drag him to the First Baptist Church and the Harmony Sunday school class.
WHEREAS, he was stingy husband to his fat, wife, (Ruby)Lorene Brown Rigdon, so she stole a bunch of money from various acounts just before the pulled the plug , a psychopathic, violent father to his children and a grandfather you didn't leave you children with alone; and his memory will be a sad cross to bear forever
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express regret at the loss of Austin Daniel Rigdon (Horse Poop!!!) and convey their sympathy to his silly, fat, mother goose wife Ruby Lorene Rigdon who is a cold hearted, greedy hag and wouldn't give one dime to Austin's poor cripple son, but got her skinny daughter a tit job hoping some man will marry her and generally threw away a lot of money on her undeserving family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Rigdon. (They never sent it to anyone but Ruby and she is the actual author of this dribble. I guess she had it framed the way she did the fake World War II medals she ordered out of a magazine.
Sigh! How sad...

Lorene Rigdon
