Hmmm well, my g/f lost the baby in early May/ late April, so the fatherhood thing still eludes me, but just for now. As for the Rangers, I know this is pipe dreaming, and quite sad nonetheless, but if they can hold their own in NY this week, they get a few shots at BAL and TB right after, and if they could stay hot ( 5 straight wins before tonights loss to BOS), they could make a serious run at .500 and somewhat respectability. As for next season, I think it's really hard to say. Rocker and Burba weren't great ideas, but at the prices they paid, they were hardly catastrophes either. Irabu was a steal considering the role he played and the results he got before getting injured, Everett was injured a bunch and still isn't comfortable, but I gotta think having him is better than Darren Oliver. All in all, I don't think Hart's moves were as dumb as they looked. Moves I'd like to see for next year, and some of them seemed crazy just 2 years ago: Rusty Greer's contract is gonna be a sore spot that holds Mench and or Hafner back as long as he's there, so he needs to be dealt at any cost. i.e. the kinda deal they took to get rid of Oliver. They need to make a 10 mill a year PLUS incentives offer to Pudge, beg him twice, have Raffy, Gonzo and A-Rod beg him twice, and if he still balks, scratch him. There may never be another like him, but offer any more than that, and Texiera, Mench, Blalock, Hafner and any other decent prospect will read that they will never get paid in Texas and want out. They already gave up Pena for peanuts, they need to take a good lookat Raffy's knee and Gonzo's back before dealing another. And since Park will say even without the bonus payment, use that 10+ mill to send to Colorado, perhaps with Greer and get either Neagle (preferred) or Hampton. They've both got a lot left, and Park, Rogers and one of them could be nasty.
