Subject: Just some stuff

I've been busy the past week or so, but I wanted to weigh in on some of the weeks issues. First, I still can't believe Johnny Unitas has passed away. He was the ultimate field leader and the pioneer for guys like Marino, Tarkenton and Elway to bomb away. In the past few years the world has lost some of it's true legends, guys like Unitas, Teddy Williams, Wilt Chamberlain, and Walter Payton. How much longer will we have Ali?
As for Chris Webber and the Michigan fiasco, I have 2 trains of thought on that. 1, I hope the basketball program gets the death penalty. Every coach, booster, ball boy, fan and player had to know what was going on there, yet they all turned the blind eye in exchange for the media circus that followed the Fab 5. Is it fair to punish the whole program? I dunno, ask SMU. The other thought is, if Chris Webber took 280,000 bucks, then Michigan still owes him about 5 million dollars, along with Rose, Howard and the rest. I still think it's ridiculous that the NCAA makes millions every year off of athletes, yet it destroys young men and women's lives when they find out that they took a sportcoat from someone else. Yeah, they're getting an education, but one blown knee and all of a sudden that's all they've got, and they've just dropped from 15 million dollars a year to 55,000, while the NCAA money vacuum doesn't seem to notice them. Trust me, the NCAA needs these kids more than the kids need them.
OK, I'm done for now, maybe this will wake someone up.
