Hey Chad. Hope all is well. From what I have heard, there was no formal offer from the Blue Jays,but you're right,the feeling is pretty strong within the organization to hold on to Nick Johnson and see what he can do with 500 at bats. The organization feels really good about two outfielders who nearly made the team out of spring training:Juan Rivera, and Marcus Thames. Vladimir Guerrero (or however you say his name) will be a free agent in 2004 I believe,and the Yanks have their eyes on him. So overall,there's no sense in giving up a hot commodity in Johnson for another weak-fielding outfielder--the Yanks seem to have enough of those, and help is on the way from within.

I see Randy Johnson opened up with a dominating performance. Good luck to the D-Backs this year--but if it's a rematch,God help them....
