I have had family and friends who have performed exorcisms. All I can offer is advise based on what has been passed on to me by these folks. First, you will have absolutely no control over what transpires. This can be constant, or (as your post suggests) intermittant. It seems Demons have their specific "likes" of various nasty habits. This can include anything from blastphemey type occurances to self-destruction type habits (drug use, self abuse, excetera). If your are involved with anything of the sort...STOP. Don't feed it's "desires". I have also witnessed strange occurances when certain objects have been brought into a house. My sister has an item that she put in her room. Shortly after we would hear disembodied voices, doors opened and closed by themselves, and strange odors began. By accident it was discovered that when the object left, so did the activity. Brought anything into your house recently? Good Luck
