No, of course the house isn't 300 years old; we are on the west coast remember. It is well documented that the house was built in 1879. As for the ghost stories... who knows? Personally, I'm a non-believer. I've never heard mention of a young boy haunting. Only "Louisa", and the story goes... that her husband, Robert Chalmers, was beginning to go mad later in life. She didn't know how to handle it so she locked him in the prison cell located in the basement (it's there, I've seen it). Since he was nuts, he didn't trust her. Therefore, he thought she was trying to poison him and he refused to eat. He soon starved to death in the cell in the basement and was buried across the street. Any resulting haunting would probably be either Mr. Chalmers or Louisa. Although, I'm no ghost expert.
