I'm positive that around and about the local leagues there are lads who could make the grade. Graeme Mitchell had limited chances last season but always looked decent when he played - unfortunately he is now serving a 35 day suspension for a sending off playing for Sidac FC. Phil Mitchell has joined his brother this season and looks as good a prospect as we've seen.

Only time will tell if his raw talent will see him become a regular, especially with the likes of Wilde, Heavey, Cooper and Poland all fighting over a couple of places!

I've often said over the last couple of seasons that it would be nice to uncover a couple of Steve 'Pellet' Penningtons from local football - maybe we have?

If there are players out there who fancy giving it a go I'm sure John D and Peter King would be more than happy to see them at training - usually Tuesdays and Thursdays at Moss Lane (Liverpool St. Helens RUFC) - subject to midweek matches.
