Subject: FAO Salford man

Although I try to follow the Saints most weekends I do admit to also following Prescot,Skelmersdale and Burscough from time to time. On Saturday I thought I'd watch the Prescot-Salford match as I'd missed the first game of the season when Salford hit us for five. It was brought to my attention that Salford (by the keen Salford fan on this forum) were going to walk away with the league - so I thought I'd see if they could walk the walk.

They started well and but for some poor finishing could have been 2 goals up inside the first 20 minutes, as it was Prescot scored twice against the run of play before Prescot began to get on top towards the end of the first half. In the second half it was the classic case of a game of two halves as Prescot took control and deservedly won the match 3-0.

From a neutrals view I think that both teams will be in the top four come the end of the season along with ourselves and Mossley - in what order is anyones guess but one things for sure Salford certainly won't be walking away with the title. Two good forwards but a defence that takes considerable risks and a goalkeeper that seems glued to his line at times.

I actually spoke to some Salford fans who admitted that Prescot deserved the win and that this result could be the kick up the backside they need. What do you think Salford man?
