Stu Phoenix has been an excellent servant, over many years, for Town but decided suddenly last Friday to end his playing days with the club. Although I have not spoken to Stu, he was at last Saturday's game versus Prescot and I have been told he said he just wasn't enjoying his football. I was also a little sceptical as to him allegedly saying it was nothing to do with Assistant Manager Glenn Walker deciding to step down. I'm sure we've not heard the last of Stu on the non-league circuit and we wish him well.
