Your first point with regard to yesterday's debutants is vaild. I personally thought Lee Prior did OK. However, Mark Brennan's show was lacklustre and made all the worse by gifting the second Newcastle goal. In their defence it was their first time among an already under performing side. As for Chris Bermingham, his good performances have been sporadic this season (even though it looks as if he's departed) and we all tend to look at either a players best qualities or worst depending on our personal preference.

Prescot do look to be heading for promotion and being our local rivals this is even harder to take. However, that must not let anyone make harsh judgements on when or whether to get rid of a manager. We've a League Cup semi-final coming up and we don't want to deny ourselves the possibility of some silverware (albeit, not the one we may have set out for at the start of the campaign).

We've quite a few games left (in which to win or drop points - the latter seems more likely) and the players have got to dig deep and start to perform.

As to your last comment on the Leigh RMI manager - it's a new one on me (not that I should be privvy to such info) but I do find it a bit strange - but then that's football.
