Quietly she enters the terra, keeping out of sight, for she does not wish to encounter any others. After all, how could anyone welcome a blackblood who rebels against her heritage? Wandering about the forest, she watches the squirrels and birds go about their daily routines, and wonders silently why life cannot be so simple for the rest of them as well. Soon she comes upon a meadow, sun-filled and peaceful, with many randomly-dispersed places upon which she can easily picture those Coppice herd members she has met perching. Mulan halts momentarily, awed, and then, slowly, walks forth again, looking about her with an amazed expression on her face. Walking across the meadow, she steps back into the forest, and finds herself at a clear, apparently-shallow pool. Silence surrounds the pool, a silence so deep it is...unnatural. And yet peaceful, in a way utterly unlike anything else in the world. Mulan hesitates, awed once again, but something about the pool calls to her, and she steps forth, and looks in.
In its depths she sees things that have been: the Coppice herd going out to rescue a silverblood filly, and the silverblood filly declaring that she wishes to be unrescued; Almase saying something wise concerning silverbloods and peacemakers, and Stovati admitting she's wise; Farhan arriving, saying something bubbley, Stovati asking him who he is, and where he may have misplaced his brain, and Farhan responding with, "..What brain?"; Almase leaving the herd to go after some blackblood foal; Stovati leaving, then coming back to visit Farhan and getting in an argument with Adib, then going with the herd to a meeting, at which Elham blows up, Farhan leaves, and Antar gets mad at Elham. At this point the images fade, leaving Mulan completely confused. Looking towards the sky, she lets out a long, loud, cry of frustration. She had almost had it! She had almost found an answer, and then lost it. She lifts to the sky and soars away, wishing she could fly hard and fast enough to leave all her troubles behind.
