Die katholische Kirche hat oft nicht-christliche Religionen als Satanismus interpretiert und die Aktivitäten ihrer Häretiker als einen Hinweis auf satanische Anhängerschaft betrachtet.Vor allem galt dies für die früheren Gnostiker,die von vielen Christen als Satanisten abgetan wurden.Für die Kirche und die Jüdische Religion sind auch noch heute alle nichtchristlichen und nichtjüdischen Religionen heidnische Religionen.Aber es gibt auch tatsächlich einen heidnischen Satanismus,bei dem die "Mächte der Finsternis",nicht die "Mächte des Lichts" verehrt werden.Dieser Kult stürzt sich auf alte Mythologien und Religionen(griechischen,ägyptischen oder römischen Ursprungs),hat aber auch am Christentum ein besonderes Interesse.Solche Gruppen nennen sich meist heidnisch und betrachten ihre Aktivitäten als neue Religion.(Ophitic Gnostic Cultus)Greetings Belial
