Subject: Some WCHA News for Next Year

Some news concerning the WCHA for next year.

The ADs have proposed scraping the "Alaska Rule" for the tournament and replacing it with a straight #1 through #8 seeded tournament. High seeds would host the best of three first round, winners would advance to the Conference Semis at a site to be determined for next year (the Xcel Center in 2015). #9 and #10 in the conference will be out of the playoffs.

I like it! It makes the regular season mean something and the fact that the "Alaska Rule" is now gone eliminates some of the "cheapness" that the conference was being associated with when the rule was announced.

The member school Presidents still have to approve the move.
