Gerrard enjoys winning habit

Steven Gerrard says Liverpool are now in the habit of beating Manchester United.

Liverpool won 1-0 at Old Trafford to complete the double to follow on from two victories last season.

"We've been here and done it before and we seem to be making a habit of it in the last couple of years," Gerrard told Sky Sports.

"We've been under some stick recently but most importantly we got three points. I thought we deserved to win."

Goalscorer Danny Murphy was quick to credit Gerrard with the assist for his 85th-minute winner.

"It was a similar ball he gave me at Blackburn and I fluffed that one," said Murphy.

"It is nice because it is Manchester United but the three points puts us back in it.

"Fans are going to show their frustration when the team is not playing well - it is part and parcel of football, you take the highs and lows.

"But it is no good winning here if we lose against Leicester next Wednesday. We have to keep it going."
