Subject: Return of Me

Just wanted to check in. I spent the first half of this month moving (camping along the way) but I started my new job today so I have e-mail access again. I haven't weighed in while travelling, but I will on Monday. I imgine I've yoyo'ed back up a pound or two (grr), since living in your car isn't the best for eating healthy (although I did stay active and went jogging). I'm now in a community living situation, where the dining hall is my only source of food. I had finally reached my ideal weight last spring (a couple lbs over) when I went to community-meals and gained 15 lbs over the summer. I'm sort of worried about that here, but I'm keeping it in mind and hoping that will help. Will also start working out again tomorrow. Not feeling too motivated, but I'm not being to hard on myslf in light of new home / job / coworkers / community, etc. Hope you are all doing well and feeling good. Welcome to e-mail me, of course! Thanks for being out there, I'll be in touch...

Glad to hear from you and that that the move went well. You'll get adjusted to your new situation soon enough. I remember from college that that dining halls can get you into trouble. But I actually was able to evade that freshman fifteen by walking everywhere I went and by filling up on the salad bar, with the occasional soft serve treat. I'd pretty much stay away from the hot foods section, unless it's a progressive dining hall that's where the heavy fat and calorie hitters hang out. It's okay to take it easy til you get adjusted to new situation. It's a lot all at once. Hope things continue to go well! Talk to you later.
