The Race Track

.. two tracks for training and stable competitions lay beyond the barns, sheltered stands beside the homestretch . white rails ran round the outer dirt track, with a gate opening to get access to the inner sod track within it - used only when the turf was good and strong in the summer and fall . common curtesy on the track is to judge how fast you will be training your horse, faster you go the closer to the rail you may go . if your horse becomes out of control give a heads up to near riders . sometimes there will be races, all barns may compete and train on our track - head by Chandi's office to fill out race forms for upcoming races, and if you are from another barn let her know if you are using the track ..

[:young girl walked toward the track, followed by an already tacked up throughbred mare. patting the horse's neck softly, she glanced behind to wait for Draco. her blue eyes glittered with the urge to race with the horse, and she tossed her blonde braid behind her, putting her helmet on and mounted with ease of long practice. wonder pranced on slender legs as she danced her hind 'quarters around. tossing the finely chisled head and whicker impatiently. silken tail lashed across powerful haunches and the supple neck arched, scattering the lcaey mane. cobalt stood silently and quietly behind the pair. he was not the sort to get hyper and dance about - yet stand silent. a whicker poured from the whiskery nose, encouragement to the pair. tuliped ears pricked forward as the silken tail 'kissed' taut haunches. ash leaned over her neck and whispered softly in wonder's ear. calm down girl. we'll let you out there soon. patting the horse's neck as she waited.

His solid black coat had a gorgous sheen to it. His head held high in perfect confirmation. Muscles ripple as his smooth gaits takes him over to pride. The stallion rears and comes down he whickers as he sees the one dubbed "Pride" who wished to fight him. "You are the one who wishes to fight me. Your a mere gelding compared to a stallion like me." he sneers and says, "Well I beat your supposedly the highest stud here in a race so a fight with you should be no problem." He snorts gleem dances in his eyes. He picks up a front foot and brings it down hard throwing sand up at RC's and Pride's faces. He snickers, "Do you still wish to fight me gelding?"

[:young woman calmly walks towards the track, a long, blonde braid hung from beneath her riding helmet. on her arm she carried a light-weight, finely made racing saddle and other tack. behind her followed a fiery chestnut mare, a throughbred, and a big burly bronc. she settles the tack on the rail and whistles to the nymph. fiery belle stood in front of Ash, though the two, mocha eyes gazed out onto the track. she knew what was coming and the silken tail lashed out at taut haunches. Ashleigh quickly settled the saddle with attatched blanket on her. then slipping on the bridle, bit, and blinkers. with a gentle hand she stroked her neck and spoke to the black stud beside Wonder. stay out here boy, i'll work with you soon. the burly, sable bronc just snoprted in answer and the supple neck arched. carven head dropped as he nibbled idily at the vegetation around his hooves. Ash swiftly mounted and turned wonder toward the opening in the rail. once inside she halted her and turned towards the start. ready girl? putting on slight pressure she brought her to a trot, then a canter. after she had warmed up enough she settled into racing position and halted the mare. when she was ready, she whispered to wonder. come on girl! then heeled her forward and kneaded her hands along her neck. though she kept pressure on the reins, she would like her out soon wonder shot forward like she had been shot from a cannon. though she wanted to move faster and give all her heart, she held back. finely she got the rein she needed and shot faster. slender legs eating the ground up in her long stride. Ashleigh continued to knead her hands along wonder's silky neck. asking for just a little more as they come down the backstretch and ...

.[being the fiery bronc knew he may not fight Hightower, he shifted restlessly. the sable tail twitched occasionaly across taut haunches and the shod hooves scraped the hard packed dirt. the carven head was tossed once, scattering the black tangles of mane down the arched neck. abruptly did he realize and remember something - the new stallyon said he was 'the stud'. a harsh snort wracked the papery thin nasals, a sort of chuckle if it could be called that. a cry bled from the ashen nose - pronounced echoed out among the race track barriers. calmly did the chestnut stallyon stand, the pair of mocha eyes held spark - but that was the only thing he could not control. where was that blasted steed! was the only other thing on the wild bronc's mind - yes he was a racer, but only two may ride him - Samantha and her friend [what's his name?]. another snort escaped the papery thin nasals - she hoped Cassy would come along with Pronouced, let's see if she had the guts to ride pride. another spark glittered in his eyes, malice? viciousness? the urge to fight and kill or mame? the carven head shook - those thoughts again, he hated those, but he could do nothing about them.]
