The turtle.... well takes alot of ab stength to hold you legs in the right position. So what i do to practice is just get into the position (elbows in your stomach hands on the ground and balance your body on that) and hold it. Then when you think you've got the strength try lifting you left hand of the ground and spin left (keeping your hands the same distance apart) now when you put your left hand down continue the rotation while lifting your right and repeat.
Once you can do that start lifting you body as you spin.
