well what i'm about to say was told to me by an ex p.e. teacher. And it was:
To work out some of your muscles on one day then some other ones on a different day.

oh yeah and read "the inner game of tennis" by W.Timothy Gallwey. I thought the same things you thought before i read it. Its a quick read and makes a lot of sense. Or maybe i'm just crazy.
