Like I said, my preferences are either for a man to be completely clean shaven or to have a full beard *and* mustache. . .if he grows a beard to go with his mustache, I think it will be okay. And, of course, when I comment about DD not looking good in certain situtaions, I just mean "as compared to how he usually looks". . . no matter *what* kind of goofy hairstyle, facial hair, etc. he chooses to adopt, he's still one of the best-looking men on the planet!
We probably would have heard about it some place if DD and TL had lost family members or close friends in the 9/11 disasters. From what I understand about NYC, there are kind of different "circles" or segments of society and I think DD and TL mostly have family & friends in the entertainment and academic circles, while most of the casualities were in the financial and rescue worker circles.
