I think beards tend to "thin out" a man's face. My hubby has had a beard for years, partially because he has kind of a "baby face" when he's clean shaven. (Well, he did, anyway. At this point in his life he probably wouldn't.) DD has a part in this movie, but I don't think it's a major one. Did you ever see the movie "That Thing You Do"? Tom Hanks directed it, and he was also in it, but his role was pretty minor. That's probably how DD's on-screen role in this movie will be. I would imagine it would be pretty difficult to direct a movie where you were the lead.
