Re: Scripture versus that support reincarnation -- Jack Wilkins, 11:29:16 09/22/04 Wed
REINCARNATION Rev. 9/17/04
Fact or Fancy
I first became interested in the concept of reincarnation because of all of the reports that I had read on the subject. These were from individual experiences, and the Bible seemed to indicate it was possible through casual reading, so these things launched this study. As a Christian, this concept was flying in the face of all of the things I had learned in the church, since it is taught that it is one time through only, but could so many people be wrong? The possibility that a spiritual entity or demon could inhabit a body and retain the memories of multiple lifetimes was a consideration, but I have not found any scriptural references to this, nor could I find any scriptural references to the one time through concept. Although, I have found that there are scriptures, which support reincarnation. This study does not affect your personal salvation in any way, so it does not matter which view you subscribe to. Furthermore, if a person is predisposed to a particular concept, it doesn’t seem to matter how much solid evidence is provided, since “a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still” is an unshakeable truth. One will think that he has the light while the other is in darkness and vise versa. A friend of mine consented to presenting the traditional point of view, which you will find in the text between the bold lines with his comments and my responses. The following is an article describing reincarnation from a more traditional point of view.
Reincarnation: The belief that an individual human soul passes through a succession of lives. The idea of reincarnation had its origin in northern India (ca. 1000-800 B.C.). Western views of reincarnation popular today are modifications of the ancient theory of transmigration of souls (sometimes called metempsychosis), which holds that the soul may be incarnated not only in human bodies but also in animals and plants.
The Western version of transmigration has been redefined to limit cyclic rebirths taking place in human form only. The concept of reincarnation first appeared in the early Hindu scriptures (Upanishads). It has always been an integral part of classical Buddhism. Reincarnational thinking characterized some Greek philosophers, including Pythagoras and Plato. Because of the influence of the first century Greek mystery religions, the Gnostics, and the Roman Stoics, the theory of transmigration, or reincarnation, became firmly established as a Western as well as Eastern doctrine.
Closely associated with the notion of reincarnation cycles is the Eastern concept of karma. The law of karma asserts that the evil deeds of past lives relate to the present life, and that one's present actions have implications for future lives. Essentially karma is the law of cause and effect, of action followed by reaction. In the Orient the belief in karma has resulted in a basically pessimistic view of life. Human existence is often a dreary, endless cycle of pain, suffering, and rebirth. Karmic reincarnation does not resolve the problem of evil. It requires self-salvation leading to ultimate liberation from the wheel of rebirth. The concepts of divine forgiveness and mercy are absent.
The modern Western expression of reincarnation emerged during the Enlightenment of the eighteenth century and was revived by such nineteenth century occultic movements as Theosophy, founded by the influential Madam H. P. Blavatsky. Blavatsky had the physic ability to make the sound of bells tinkling if she was happy. She was a self-serving person and deceptive. This westernized version of reincarnation was later popularized by such psychics as Edgar Cayce, Helen Wambach, and Jeanne Dixon. Unlike Eastern proponents of reincarnation, Western reincarnationists stress a more optimistic view of life, holding out the hope of more and better lives.
The ultimate objective of all re-incarnation is to fuse with "ultimate reality," to merge with God, to become God. All reincarnation teachings are based on a monistic, mystical-occult worldview that promotes the essential divinity of humanity, denies the notion of a sovereign personal God, and offers the promise of esoteric wisdom.
Comment:
This describes quite well the danger of delving into such an area; a belief in reincarnation undermines the biblical teaching of one God, not many. To progress or somehow evolve with each passing generation is simply not found in scripture. Somehow becoming a god is the same temptation that was given to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden in Genesis. If we can progress or become better in ourselves, why then do we need a savior? This is trying to merge or synthesize other religious worldviews with Christianity is incompatible; Christianity features trust in Jesus alone for salvation, period.
Response:
Lucifer expressed the problem quite well.
Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
If you are full of self, you could have this problem.
Psalms 82:6 I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.”
Since we are Gods children, it would only be natural that God would want us to be like Him.
Biblical Christianity, in contrast to reincarnational teaching, emphasizes grace, atonement, and forgiveness for fallen humanity through the once-for-all death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Christian's disavowal of reincarnation is anchored in the biblical assertion that "man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment" (Heb. 9:27). R.M. Enroth

There is little evidence of reincarnation among the early Hebrew people but it later became a part of the Kabbalistic. The teaching occurred among the early Christians, especially the Gnostics, Manichaeans, and the Carthari, but was later repudiated by orthodox Christian theologians. The early Christians taught reincarnation, and this can be proved by the words of Saint Gregory, Bishop of Nyssa, “It is absolutely necessary that the soul shall be healed and purified, and if it doesn't take place in one life on earth, it must be accomplished in future earthly lives.” There are reports that most of the scriptures concerning reincarnation were striped out of the Bible. This may or may not be true. If it is true, then it was very skillfully done. Another thought would be if reincarnation were widely accepted that perhaps it was not mentioned since every one understood the concept. Since only the rich had Bibles, the subject could be controlled with selective preaching.
Reincarnation was a basic tenant of the Catholic Church until the fourth century AD when the Roman Emperor Constantine decided to tailor it to his specifications. Rome, having been the dominant military leader was on the verge of disintegrating. The Christians had been a cult that had been persecuted for over 300 years, when they were being throwing to the lions.
Comment:
It was? What are your sources? It certainly was not a teaching of the early church of Bible times, so where did it change?
Response:
Here is a quote from Saint Gregory, Bishop of Nyssa, “It is absolutely necessary that the soul shall be healed and purified, and if it doesn't take place in one life on earth, it must be accomplished in future earthly lives.” It changed to what we have now around 325 A.D.
The ancient religions of the gods were slowly disappearing and Gaul had broken away from the Empire. Rome saw it's power slipping and the rise of another star coming. One way to keep the Empire unified was to have a common religion, so all of the religions were clumped together with Christianity being the only recognized Church. The early Church did not have any religious holidays, no Christmas, no Easter. As a result, the church was polluted as we gained the great influx of these unconverted people, with Christmas and the Christmas tree and the Ishter egg of fertility for Easter. Jesus was born on September 11th, but since it was not celebrated, December 25th was used because this was the birthday of Ishter’s son Tammuz, allegedly of virgin birth.
Have you heard of the manner in which the Bible is written? It is in a numerical sequence. A Russian atheist mathematician, by the name of Panin, around 1960, realized that that the Bible in both the Greek and Hebrew had the alphabet with numerical values, so that they could conduct commerce. So he started totaling up the paragraphs in the book of I John, because it was a short book, and found that all of the paragraphs had the same common denominator. Next he tried the sentences of a particular paragraph and found that they as well had a common denominator as well as the words in a sentence. Next he tried the Old Testament and found the same mathematical sequencing. It was like a wheel inside of a wheel inside of a wheel. The mathematical probability for some one to write a book in this manner would take a lifetime. Some of the authors wrote more than one book.
Now, just recently, they have made a program to run on the PC to try different ideas out and found that they could find peoples names in the Bible that are Christians. They called this Bible decoding. They ran Adam through the program and found that he was created on September 11th. Next they tried Jesus in the correct spelling and found that he was born on the same day. To verify this, they checked the Jewish Holidays and found that there was indeed one that coincided on that particular day and the same applied to the conception date.
Comment:
Bible decoding is shaky ground, and there’s much speculation about it.
Response:
After reading some of the reviews on this subject, I have found that the nay Sayers have the same mentality as those that claim that speaking in tongues was for the early church, to act as a super-structure to get it established, and is no longer needed.
The Roman Emperor Constantine married his way into power and then his wife mysteriously disappeared. His second wife was his ticket to the throne and then he had her killed. His third wife was a prostitute who had risen to the throne in the same diabolical manner. Constantine had a devastating effect on the belief of reincarnation. His wife’s fear was that her sins would follow her from lifetime to lifetime infuriated her. She did not like the idea of Karma, as her life was filled with lies and treachery. She was not interested in or advocated any religion that would demote her in another life. Thus she persuaded Emperor Constantine to remove reincarnation from Christianity. The early Church fathers saw that it was politically expedient to co-operate rather than try to make friends with a hungry Lion.
Constantine, from all reports was vain and fearful for his many sins. He considered himself on one hand to be the incarnation of the gods Apollo, Mytha, Jupiter, and Christ. On the other hand he was afraid that when he died he would anger these gods in heaven.
He was the first Roman Emperor to support complete religious freedom of all faiths so that when he got to heaven no god would want to take vengeance on him personally.
The Council of Nicea, the first of the seven Ecumenical Councils, took place in 325 A.D. It was concerned with the teachings of Arius and their implications for a correct understanding of the person of Jesus Christ. It included an emotionally heated debate by one of the men that if Jesus wasn’t the Son of God that he had taken these strips in vain as he removed his shirt to show the scars. This is the time that reincarnation would have been removed or not preached and the deity of Jesus exalted. The fifth Ecumenical Council, held in 553 A.D., the Council of Constantinople, was to ease the tensions in the Church caused by the Council of Chalcedon 100 years previous.
As might be expected, different people have different viewpoints, concerning the spirit and soul. Some believe that the words are interchangeable but, in the Greek, the Bible shows that pneuma is the spirit while psyche is the soul. There was also a condemnation of Origenism, which included belief in the preexistence of the soul. This belief probably originated from the idea that the spirit was a vessel that would contain many lifetimes that some people can access. Also this scripture, which applied to Jesus:
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
The reason reincarnation was repudiated was because of the eschatological teachings of death and judgment which were established as orthodox Christian doctrine. In simplicity this doctrine states man has just one life in which to merit his eternal reward or damnation.
Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
Such a doctrine also strengthened the Church. However, many Christians still believe in re-incarnation because they think Christ taught it.
Now lets see what the Bible has to say about this highly controversial subject. The early Christians were thinking reincarnation when they asked Christ whether he was Elijah, who had come before.
Matthew 16:13-14 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
As a Christian, I'm sure that you know most of this, but haven’t put it together in this manner. When reading the Bible, we tend to gloss over things that do not strike us at the time. How many times have we read something then all of a sudden we get a new concept, because the Holy Spirit might reveal something to us that we are now ready to accept.
Exodus 20:5, 6 For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and forth generations of those that hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep my commandments.
Comment:
This passage does not imply the same individual living through three or four generations, or even God punishing grandchildren or great grandchildren for the sins of the fathers, but note the phrase “of those that hate Me.”
Response:
Deuteronomy 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor shall the children be put to death for their fathers; a person shall be put to death for his own sin.
There is no condemnation for our offspring for our own transgressions, it is a personal accountability, and therefore, this refers to our next lifetime.
The Hebrew and Greek languages is somewhat like our language where a word can have more than one meaning. Take for instance our word for lead as in the past verb of led. Then we have the same spelling for pencil lead or the metal lead. The Hebrew language has a similar problem with, for example wind or spirit. Either we miss interpreted the Hebrew word for generation or it too has a double meaning of both generation as we understand that word and incarnation. This would mean that those that keep the commandments will be blessed down to the one thousandth incarnation as opposed to those that hate Me being cursed down to three or four incarnations.
In Strong’s Concordance, the word Generation is:
1755 of a revolution of time, an age or generation
and comes from the root word of:
1752 to gyrate, to move in a circle.
By combining these two, we have, a revolution of time that moves in a circle. This would occur when the spirit came down to inhabit another body for a time. So this means either 4 or 1,000 revolutions of iniquity or mercy. This closely follows the Hindu belief of the wheel of life. When a person dies, it is considered that the wheel has turned. A revolution seems to occur every two to four hundred years. Perhaps you have seen pictures of a great grand parent that looks like one of your family members?
Revelation 1:7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and ever eye will see Him, and they also who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.
Comment:
“They who pierced Him” refers to the Jewish nation, not the specific individuals who performed the crucifixion.
Response:
Since there are 12 tribes in the Hebrew nation, they are covered in the later portion of the verse, whereas the solders holding the spears were not Hebrews, but Roman soldiers.
This is one of the reasons why early Christians believed that the return of Jesus was eminent. Historically, we know that Jesus did not return during the soldiers lifetime so if the Bible is the unerring word of God, then reincarnation is true, and those soldiers will have 5 to 10 revolutions before the Lord returns.
Then remember when Jesus healed the man that was blind from birth?
John 9:1-3 Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him saying, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he should be born blind?” Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.
His disciples asked two things, were it bad karma from a previous life or was it genetic? They asked if it was something that he did or was it his parents. If he was blind from birth it couldn't have been something he did in this life, but a previous one. Jesus replied neither, it was so the works of God should be revealed. The disciples believed that re-incarnation was true and Jesus did not rebuke them.
Comment:
Jesus was rebuking the notion that the blind man was suffering because of the sins of his parents or his own, not that the infirmity had come from a previous existence.
Response:
That is true, but it would not be possible for this man to have sinned before his affliction if he were born blind, unless the disciples were referring to a previous existence.
Remember when Peter whacked off the ear of the Roman soldier with a sword and Jesus told Peter while he was reattaching the ear, he that lives by the sword dies by the sword?
Mathew 26:51, 52 And suddenly, one of those who were with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword, struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take up the sword will perish by the sword.”
Luke 22:50, 51 And one of them struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. But Jesus answered and said, “Permit even this.” And he touched the ear and healed him.
John 18:10, 11 Then Simon Peter, having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servants name was Malchus. Then Jesus said to Peter, “Put your sword into the sheath.”
How does this apply to John the Baptist? He did not live by the sword; all he was doing was being a non-violent Profit of God, irritating Herod by telling him,
Mark 6:18 “It is not lawful for you to have your brother’s wife.”
Yet his head was served up on a platter to Herodias. Could it be that in a previous life he was Elijah and killed 450 priests of Baal with the sword and Jezebel swore vengeance against him, but he escaped her? Could it be that Jezebel reincarnated as Herodias and she finally caught up with him? Have you ever met someone for the first time and taken an immediate disliking for him or her, or conversely immediately liked them? Perhaps they had done you wrong or been your friend before.
Malachi 4:5 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
Mark 9:11-13 And they asked Him saying, ”Why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?” Then He answered and told them, “Elijah does come first, and restores all things. And how is it written concerning the Son of Man, that He must suffer many things and be treated with contempt? But I say to you that Elijah has also come, and they did to him whatever they wished, as it is written of him.”
Matthew 11:13-15 ”For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
How about you are you willing to receive it or do you have ears to hear? In this next verse, John was asked if he was Elijah.
John 1:21 And they said to him, “What then? Are you Elijah”? He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
Clearly, there is a division of opinion here. Most of us do not remember any past lives, but a few do. Who should we believe here, Jesus or John?
Luke 1:17 “He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
1 Kings18: 40 And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there.
1 Kings19: 2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”
Matthew 16:16-18 And Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”
First we see that John was Elijah in a previous life, and that Simon was Peter in a previous life. What does “and on this rock I will build my church” mean? Is He referring to the fact of reincarnation as being one of the cornerstones of the church? If so, how did the church miss this point? Would this concept fall into the category of the meat of the word?
Comment:
First refer to Luke 1:17 where it talks about John coming in “the spirit and power of Elijah.” This refers to an anointing for ministry, not that Elijah himself was coming back in a reincarnated form; but that John’s ministry would be carried out in the same type of power and purpose. I’m not really grasping your connection about Simon was Peter in a previous life; Simon Peter was the same individual. Jesus gave Simon the designation “Peter” because of his ministry or his confession here was to be foundational for the future church.
Response:
Luke 1:17 “He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, ‘to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,’ and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”
Matthew 11:13-15 ”For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to receive it, he is Elijah who is to come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!
Why would Jesus ask if you were willing to receive it or had ears to hear if it was not a hidden meaning? This should eliminate the concept of the same type of spirit and ministry.
Matthew 16:13-14 When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?” So they said, “Some say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
Matthew 16:16-18 And Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against.”
Notice, Jesus first asked who the people said He was, then He asked Simon Bar Jonas who he thought Jesus was. Then Jesus said that it was true, He was the Son of God, and since they were revealing who Jesus really was, Jesus revealed to Simon that he was really Peter. In the context of the passage, this revelation was in relation to a previous existence. Before Jesus was born here, he was the Son of God and before Simon was born, he was Peter. Because of this revelation of previous life times, Jesus was going to build his church.
Ecclesiastes 12:6, 7 Remember Him before the silver cord is severed, or the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, or the wheel is broken at the well. And the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
As you can see, when a person dies, the silver cord is loosed and the spirit returns back to God who gave it, the body goes into the grave and returns to dust and the soul goes into judgment. Do not be content with the knowledge that your spirit is going to return to God. Your spirit is your subconscious; or your life force, the vessel, which contains memories of your soul; you do not want your consciousness or personality suffering in hell.
Ecclesiastes 7:20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good and does not sin.
Since reincarnation is a failure and not getting the desired results, even though it is continuing today, it was necessary for God to provide a lamb without spot or blemish to pay for our sins so that we could escape this death and rebirth cycle.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Down through the ages, man was aware of the sin problem that separated man from God. The custom of some was to carve their sins into a tree branch and throw the branch into a river allowing their sins to be carried away by the currents out to the sea. Later the Israelites used the scapegoat by laying hands on the animal and confessing their sins over it, then driving it out of camp. Neither of these methods were a permanent solution. In order to provide the perfect Lamb of God, the Immaculate Conception was required and it was necessary for Jesus to come here to die for us. By having the virgin birth, the ties to the sins of the forefathers were eliminated. It is also said in the Lost Books of the Bible, that Mary, His mother, was also of an Immaculate Conception. This is not verifiable, so therefore questionable, but if true, this would further distance Jesus from the sins of the forefathers. Jesus came back to pay for our sins by taking them on Himself, and by doing so the Father said, “You are my begotten Son.” We are all called the sons of God, both angels and man. Now Jesus became the only begotten son. In fact, we have the same spirit as the angels, which are called eloheem.
Comment:
Not sure of your source and conclusions here about us having the same spirit as the angels.
Response:
Psalms 8:4, 5 What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit Him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and you have crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalms 82:6 I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.”
Both angels and gods are listed as 430 in Strong’s Bible Concordance:
430 gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative to angels, great, judges, mighty.
Psalms 2:7 You are my son today I have begotten you.
2 Samuel 7:14 I will be his Father and He shall be My Son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten Him with the rod of man and with the blows of the son of men.
It is not recorded that Jesus committed any sins, but by taking on the sins of the world He was chastened. Notice, that the great event that had occurred was His crucifixion. He was willing to pay for our sins and because of that, He became His begotten Son, whereas before he was not His begotten Son, He was just his son. Also, He was promoted to the priesthood of Melchizidek and to replace Lucifer as the bright and morning star.
Psalms 116:4 You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, Son of the morning.
Revelation 22:16 “I Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. “I am the Root of David, the Bright and Morning Star.”
Comment:
Be careful of basing conclusions on one verse, nowhere else does scripture teach that Jesus “became” the Son of God, instead Jesus has always been Gods Son, see John 1. The Psalms 116:4 passage as well does not refer to Jesus somehow attaining the Order of Melchizidek, but that His ministry had similarities to that of Melchizidek Hebrews 11:16, and in addition, I don’t find any connection between the description of Lucifer and Jesus being the Bright and Morning Star. No official designations or titles implied. Since Jesus has always been pre-eminent there is no need to replace Lucifer in any way.
John 1:1-5 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was god. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
Psalms 116:4 You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
Hebrews 11:16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.
Response:
There must be a harmony of all of the scriptures; if that harmony does not exist it is because we are using the wrong concept to understand the word.
We are all Sons of God.
Psalms 82:6 I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High.”
Jesus was slain from the foundations of the world. It was predestined that He would give His life for us, but it was His free choice.
Daniel 7:13 I was watching in the night visions, and behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him.
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all things He my have preeminence.
Because He is the first born of the dead, He has preeminence. If He had not freely died for us this would not be the case. The Almighty Father knew from the foundations of the earth that this would come to pass.
Isaiah 14:12 How you have fallen from heaven, O Lucifer [day star], Son of the morning.
Lucifer was one of the archangels. His real name is Heylel. The “el” at the end of his name means god. An archangel was created with all wisdom and knowledge and did not require a physical body for the learning experience.
Hebrews 11:16 doesn’t seem to fit in, are you sure that you have the correct reference?
A person has to allow for a little variation between the Hebrew and Greek languages. Checking in Strong’s Bible Concordance helps to make corrections in the different translations.
Strong’s Bible Concordance:
1966 from 1984 (in the sense of brightness); the morning star; Lucifer.
1984 a prime root; to be clear; to shine; to make a show; to rave; to celebrate.
This seems the same as “the Bright and Morning Star” to me.
Hebrews 9:27 And it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.
This scripture is referring to the soul. Jesus came to save the soul. Jesus was an ascended master by the name of Sananda and had completed his incarnations and He was also the Lord of Abraham, Isaac and Joseph and was present for the creation of Adam and walked with Adam in the garden in the cool of the evening. The soul goes into judgment, the spirit returns to God and the body returns to the dust. For those people that believe that the soul and spirit are the same, how can there be a judgment and a hell. If a person should experience a spiritual rebirth, the cycle is ended and they will go into everlasting life.
Comment:
Careful here, this comment seems to come out of nowhere. “Ascended Master” is specifically eastern mystic language and not biblically based at all. And where does “Sananda” come from? I don’t see how this connection can be made, there’s no biblical evidence that Jesus some how completed his incarnations and ascended to his position as the only Begotten Son of God.
Response:
Sananda comes from people that retain memories of past lives.
Acts 10:34-35 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him.”
Here we see that Peter had the same problem that we have; of prejudging other people. We will be really surprised to see who made it to heaven.
Psalms 2:7 You are my son today I have begotten you.
Colossians 1:18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the first born from the dead, that in all things He my have preeminence.
He became the only begotten Son of God by his willingness to give His life for us. He had the same desires that we have, He would have rather have had this cup pass from Him. In fact, if He had called out the angels would have come to His rescue. His willingness to die for us resulted in His preeminence and His becoming the only begotten Son of God.
Matthew 20:16 For many are called, but few chosen.
Now we are joint heirs with Jesus and share his birthright. We are Lucifer’s replacements. Is it any wonder why Lucifer is after us day and night?
Live each day as if He were coming today.
You can experience a spiritual rebirth by asking the Almighty Father, the Creator of Heaven and Earth, “Heavenly Father, I ask you to forgive all of my sins and come into my heart in the name of Jesus”. By doing this, the order of body, soul and spirit are reversed to the spirit, soul and body. Now we are no longer controlled by our body’s carnal desires of hunger, sex or addictions or the soul’s desires of lust for things or possessions. We can now be led by the spirit.
