Nigel Goodall believes her girl-next-door quality is unique and makes her even sexier than Madonna. And he says Holly Valance's attempts to imitate Kylie haven't come close. Nigel told Ananova: "Despite her suggestive dances, Kylie's girly appeal is very refreshing. It's all done very tongue in cheek and naturally - that's the quality that makes her unique. Madonna is much more controversial which I believe doesn't make her as sexy. "Holly Valance is trying the same thing with sexy outfits but she doesn't quite have the same effect that Kylie has. Kylie has been around a long time and her history makes her intriguing. "She's always got a wink in her eye and doesn't take herself as a serious sex icon. You tell by the great big smile she gives at the end of each performance." Nigel goes on to say that in real life Kylie is as nice and as honest as she appears to fans. He adds that the secret of her success is her marketing. "A 33-year-old would normally be regarded as quite old to be a pop icon but she's got some fantastic material and is well marketed," he said. "At the end of the day she has a sexual appeal and sex sells. All those things combined help to make her successful. To be exposed in the tabloids as much as she is, is very rare. "She's one of the most endearing stars of our time." Kylie: Naked is released in bookshops this Thursday. It has been co-written by Nigel Goodall and Jenny Stanley Clark.
