Subject: Mousse vs Cuticle Softener

Mousse is a nourishing treatment for the nail. It also hydrates the matrix and cuticles and feeds the nails. It is not water proof. Mousse is rubbed in 2-4 times a day.

Cuticle Softener is just that. It softens skin. It is water proof and can be used by itself or over Mousse to seal in the Mousse. You rub Cuticle Softener into the cuticle when doing a manicure, before gardening or getting into water. Extremely dry cuticles can not absorb Mousse, so you use the softener to soften cuticle that needs to be sloughed off. Mousse will absorb into the nail better when the cuticles are in good shape.
