Subject: UV Inhibitors in Polish

Evidence continues to build on the danger of exposure to ultraviolet rays. The May 1992 issue of "Nails" says that when we are outdoors, we are exposed to two types of ultraviolet rays: UVA and UVB. UVA rays are cumulative and overexposure can affect the skin's elasticity, which can lead to premature aging. UVA exposure can also damage our blood vessels and the ability of some cells to provide their immune-protecting functions. UVB rays are responsible for sunburns. The skin may develop a sensitivity to UV rays and may become more susceptible to skin cancer caused by UVB rays.
Concern over ultraviolet rays protection has also become an important marketing focus.
Research into UV protection ingredients are in our Amera products reveals that we always have had UV protection in the form of Etocrylene and/or Benzophenone-1.

Sun screen agents are OTC drug ingredients which protect the skin from ultraviolet light, UV absorbers, like sunscreen agents, have the ability to convert incident ultraviolet radiation into less damaging infrared radiation (heat)."
