Subject: Sandra Bullock Romantic Comedy "Prime" Now Casting


"Prime", an upcoming romantic comedy from Stratus Films and Universal Pictures, is now casting major roles for production this September.

From the writer and director of "Boiler Room", this film will star Sandra Bullock as an Upper East Side career woman in her late 30s who falls in love with a young painter from Brooklyn who is just out of college. It is a story that looks at all of those who are affected and torn apart when two people fall in love.

"Prime" will star Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep, and will be directed by Ben Younger. The film is being produced by Suzanne and Jennifer Todd ("Austin Powers", "Memento") of Team Todd. The executive producers are Bob Yari and Mark Gordon.

Production is scheduled to begin in September 2004.  The film has a variety of principal and supporting roles still open.

ROLES AVAILABLE:

FEMALES

"Michelle", Caucasian, 20s. A pretty, emotionally-needy, intelligent young woman who Dave is hanging out with and sleeping with before he starts dating Rafi. Michelle thinks that she and Dave are dating, but he seems to think otherwise.

"Carla", Latina, 20s. A hip young woman at the house party at Fort Greene.

"Susan", Caucasian, 30s - 40s. A sophisticated, fashionable Manhattan woman. She is a "Sex and the City" type who likes to gossip. She is very sarcastic. Susan is friends with Lisa, and they often go shopping together.

"Waitress", any ethnicity, 20s - 30s. She works at a New York restaurant called Supper.

"Sue", Caucasian, 20s - 30s. A flirtatious, insecure woman and aspiring actress who has an affair with Dave one night.

"House Party Friends", any ethnicity, 20s. A group of very hip New York young people of all ethnicities who are dancing to hip-hop at a House Party at Fort Greene. Dave takes Rafi to this party.

"Blanch", Caucasian, 70s - 80s. A classic New York Jewish elderly woman. She is Dave's grandmother. She and her husband Sam talk about moving to Miami together. She complains about the smallest things.

"Charlotte", Caucasian, 60s - 70s. A healthy, physically-fit older woman who is the mother of Rafi. She is emotionally cold and does not express affection very easily.

"Rita", 60s, East Indian. A therapist who Lisa goes to when she needs help herself.

"Crate and Barrel Salesperson", any ethnicity, 30s - 40s. An annoyed salesperson who finds Lisa and Susan hiding under a bed at the department store.

MALES

"David", Caucasian, 20s. A hip, intelligent, articulate artist and painter from New York who starts dating an older woman named Rafi. Dave makes a living working at an art transporter company in Brooklyn. Dave still lives with his two classically-Jewish, nagging grandparents Sam and Blanche, and he looks forward to moving out. LEAD ROLE

"Morris", Caucasian, 20s. A hip, suave, down-to-earth old buddy of Dave's from high school. Morris works at Travelart in Brooklyn with Dave. They talk about Dave's love life and about traveling to Central America together. He and David go to hip-hop house parties together when they're not at work. LEAD ROLE

"Tony", African-American, 30s - 40s. A tall, intimidating, mostly silent doorman for Rafi's apartment building. He gives Dave a hard time whenever he comes to see Rafi.

"Basketball Player", any ethnicity, 20s. A fit, athletic guy who plays basketball with Dave and Morris on a court at Thompkin's Square Park.

"Palmer", Caucasian, 30s - 40s. A wealthy gay man who lives in East Hampton with his partner Jason. He likes to gossip with Rafi and says what's on his mind without worrying about being polite.

"Gallery Patron", any ethnicity, 50s - 60s. A wealthy patron at a gallery who buys one of Dave's paintings for several thousand.

"Sam", Caucasian, 70s - 80s. A standard New York Jewish elderly man. He is Dave's grandfather, and he and his wife Blanche love to complain about everything they can.

"Security Guard" (a.k.a. "Earl"), any ethnicity, 70s - 80s. An elderly, grumpy security guard .
