Subject: Sunday Liquor Sales in Kansas

Kansas is broke. About 800 million dollars of
deficit.

Many communities in eastern Kansas have a solution
which will add money to local budgets and the states
coffers as well: Sunday alcohol sales.

Justification: Kansas people drive in droves across
the state line to purchase beer, hard booze, attend
casino's and spend money. These are precious dollars
lost to our state economy. In Wyndotte County, where
the voters revolted and started selling on Sunday,
sales are up 8.5 to 15%!!! This is good for local
business, local government, and the state as well.
The alternative - is drastically raise taxes.

Why are people such hypocrits! The republican moralists
who hold the legislature will not get their heads out of
the sand and pass a bill to bring Kansas up to the
year 2003. Yet, they make millions off lottery tickets.
I thought sin was sin: you can't have a little sin. You
can't justify it. You can buy a drink in any resturant
on Sunday - but you can't buy beer to drink in the privacy
of your own home.

I was raised in rural Iowa, and did twenty years service
to my county. I always voted straight republican. Not
any more.
