brenda, as I see it, Jesus and the other Jews that started Christianity were what we these days would call "fundamentalists", who believed what their scriptures were saying. You mentioned a part of what Jesus was saying, but many don't know that this is a quote from the Jewish scriptures, not something that Jesus invented.
..... As I remember from reading "The Marian Conspiracy...", a book by Graham Phillips, published in 2000, Paul was of Greek origin, and a Roman citizen. Probably covering the head at that time was a preventive measure, in the same way as the women of Islam still are required to cover their bodies - it may have been designed to prevent or at least reduce raping? Compare with current reasons why commercials are so very concerned about women's hair care.
