The simple fact is that while Christ was a great man, and I believe, the son of God...He absolutely would not approve of what is being done in his name, by (among others) George Bush. As a DEFENDER of the Christian faith, I am obliged to view the acts of men according to a critical assessment of their actions & intent- Just because someone calls themself a Christian does not make them one. Bush is motivated by the same intent as any other politician- Personal ambition, personal greed, personal fear and a desire to further the interests of groups he identifies with. Jesus would have never condoned all this killing in the name of revenge; he would have never approved of all the materialistic motivations propelling the violence, nor the American Military Industrial Complex encouraging it. He certainly would not accept the bigotry which condemns true believers who happen to refer to his Dad by Allah, in stead of God.
Jesus weeps at all this.
