About >2 Gb capturing
The newest Studio & drivers of DC10+ (1.06.4) are NOT limited to 2 Gb capturing. DC10+ now can capture to a max of 77 minutes (or something like that).
So it can make large captures but it can NOT create f.i. a single 8 Gb file, because (to say it simple) Windows and/or the AVI file format wouldnt accept such large files. This is why Studio automaticly creates multiple 2 Gb files in a row, without losing a single frame.

About the patch
In short: with the patch Premiere outputs its timeline to DC10's video output (and so to a tv and/or vcr) WITHOUT having to render everything first. Of course, if you insert effects, transitions etc, they'll have to be rendered, but not the clips themselves.
Apart from other advantages, this makes editting much easier because while editting, in stead of viewing the tiny little edit screen at the top right of Studio's main screen, you can view it full screen on a tv set (preferably placed side to side your pc monitor).
This is possible because of a feature called "Miro InstantVideo", a gadget wich was originally developed ONLY for use with the more expensive DC30+ card. But Filik hacked it so now it can be used with our cheap DC10+ card.
Filik developed the hack over a year ago, but until now it had the disadvantage that transitions etc. made with it were too red of color. If you recently bought a DC10+ you're a lucky guy, coz only a few days ago Filik perfectionized its patch, and now it works totally perfect.
