Great article.

I don't know that I agree with him that kicking straight on is 'optimal' though it appears simpler. Just the fact that straight on kickers needed special square toed shoes shows that compensations were needed.

Still I think he raises a valid point but there needs to be a definition of optimum. If optimum is what delivers the lowest score, then there is probably a different optimum for every golfer.

I have found none of the systems I've tried (NG, IMA, HSS and CG) to be infallible. Bad shots can be made with each (and I am proof:-)) NG is not slice proof. All work perfectly IF you execute perfectly. He seems to have come to a conclusion I will restate as 'there is no perfection where people are involved'.
