I know what you are saying and I have swung that way for 2 years until recently. It doesn't work for me as well as my current 'idiom'. The big thing was internalizing how to do the 'move'. Until I did that the arm swing worked best and the attempt at the 'move' ALWAYS caused me to screw up.

Moe actually demonstrated a SUPER deep lunge when answering a question about his source of power in 'pipeline' and proceded to use the motion to smack a drive which went a long way judging from the oohs & ahhs in the crowd. A lot of what I've heard Moe say I've found I need to accept with care but that was what he thought then.
