I was fitted by NG and came out with a standard set of clubs which I felt were too short. I am 6'-0".

I built my own set of Ping copies and the way I made the final length was:

While in my stance, have the club in the correct lie.
I also wanted to have 1" out of the back of my hands for balance.
I kept experimenting. I now have clubs that are 2" longer than the so called standard.

I never made a club before. By a book from GolfSith or Golfworks and play. Make them longer. You can always cut them down.

The most important thing is that the lie is correct and that you are comfortable when you swing.

My opinion,

Medreth
