For anyone reading this forum who hasn't heard of this before, this is a classic scam. There even was something about it on TV here a few months ago. If you had given them your card number for "security reasons", they would have immediately charged you whatever they could fit on the available credit, up to or beyond the $2700 "list price". You definitely made the right move!

BTW, I'm not trying to imply here that any of the clubs mentioned earlier in this thread are just scams!!
